RefugeeBy:Alan Gratz Journal EntryThe book I am doing is Refugee by Alan Gratz. This book is about three kids from different timelines (Josef, Germany 1939, Isabel, Cuba 1994 and Mahmoud, Syria 2015) who are escaping civil war, the holocaust and a country with starvation and civil rights abuses. But they all have one thing in common, Escape. All three kids go on exciting and scary journeys. They all face unimaginable dangers. But, through all that has happened and happening, they are always hoping for tomorrow. And all though they are separated by continents and decades, shocking connections will tie their stories together in the end. I loved this book by Alan Gratz because he put in so much detail in these kids lives and what happened when they on the run from there countries. Life of Pi Journal Entry:The book I am reading is life of Pi. This novel is about a lone survivor on a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific ocean with a spotted hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, an orangutan and a 450 pound Royal bengal tiger named Richard Parker. He has to survive the rough waves in the Pacific and must survive sharing a life boat with an animal that has one of the strongest bite forces on earth, the hyena and probably the best stealth hunter on the planet, the Tiger. After the hyena, zebra and orangutan die, Richard Parker and Pi become friends. Pi and Richard Parker survived 227 days at sea. In this book Yann Martel put so much detail in the part where Pi was in the lifeboat it was as if you were Pi in the lifeboat. The thing I did not love about the book was the first part because it was slow getting started. But other than that I loved the book.
